If you’re looking to switch up your cardio routine, there’s nothing better than trying a new group fitness class. The beauty of classes is that they are so varied in their workout types and levels of difficulty, so there’s something for everyone. Don’t know your way around the gym yet? Perfect. A group fitness class can teach you some moves that you can take with you on the floor when you’re ready. Here’s a basic breakdown of the cardio classes offered at Boost and why you’ll love each.
Do you find yourself peddling away on the stationary bike, watching the timer like a hawk? Try a spin class and we promise you’ll never want to leave the gym. You’ll power through your workout listening to motivating music as your instructor coaxes you towards the finish line. One of the best things about spinning is that it can be adapted for every level. While you should strive to keep up with the rest of the class, new spinners shouldn’t worry about cranking up the resistance; instead, we recommend you try to keep the pace. Is everyone else biking a mile a minute? Just keep spinning. As long as your legs are moving, you’re getting a good workout.
Heading to your first class? Classes range from 30 minutes to 1 hour, and you’ll get your heart racing with a variety of sprints and hills. Be sure to have a water bottle in tow and drink plenty of water beforehand. You may also want to bring a hand towel because you will likely sweat a lot. If you make spinning a regular part of your gym routine, you can invest in spin shoes or a gel seat cover for comfort. When getting dressed for a spin class, wear gym apparel with moisture wicking so you’ll stay cool even when you’re sweating. Also, ladies with long hair, opt for a bun instead of a ponytail to be most comfortable.
You’ll love this class if you’re looking to burn major calories while sculpting your lower body.

Rough day? Take a Group Fight class. An hour of cardio kickboxing will rid you of your bad mood as well as hundreds of calories. No equipment is required; all you need is yourself. When getting ready for class, we recommend wearing more form-fitting clothing. You’ll be doing lots of punching, kicking, and side steps, so you don’t want loose fabric getting in the way. Are you a beginner looking to try a choreographed cardio class? We highly recommend trying Group Fight first.

Would you rather party than workout? Then Zumba is for you. Originating in Brazil, this dance class will get even more effective as you get more familiar you get with the moves. You’d be shocked that each class is an hour long because they’re over in a blink of an eye. No special equipment is required. Also, words of wisdom for when you’re getting dressed for class, leave your baggy pants at home. There’s a lot of side stepping involved and you don’t want to trip over the hem of your pants.
